I ended up just making a page called [[lokivanishes]] that has the forum information (and can contain other information we collect in the future.) If converted from Hexadecimal to Decimal, the number 6B617261 (left after solving all the answers in /more_answers) becomes 1801 548 385 - which looks a lot like a telephone number. Does not connect in Australia, could someone in the USA have a go? -Ragnarok

"LOKI" Turns out to be real life soap opera star Minae Noji from General Hospital.
I sent e-mails to said name at microsoft.com, amd.com, 42 entertainment.com which all bounced back, however minaenoji@vanishingpoint.com didnt bounce back after 6 hours already.

Also if you visit her page at myspace you will see further details of her background, parents and the meaning of her name which may have alot to do with upcoming answers.

She states that her full name is Minae Cattleya Noji with the Minae meaning bird, Cattleya meaning flower, and Noji meaning water.

Searching for contact numbers now. Will keep everyone posted

The San Francisco picture [http://vanishingpointwiki.com/wiki/Image:Projections_San_Francisco.jpg] shows 3 items above the same starburst(?) pattern: A locomotive (invented by George Stevenson/GS), a telephone (invented by Alexander Graham Bell/AGB); both represented in the mural. The only one not represented is the statue of Poseidon, whose son is TRITON. ((Great! What does that have to do with the puzzle?))

The puzzle clearly indicates that dates are somehow significant "PEOPLE AND DATES WITH LASTING EFFECT". The complication I ran into were that dates attributed to the inventions shown are very sketchy in many cases. When I decided to take the first date associated with the invention or underlying principle behind each item I came up with this (quotes taken from web references found with Google):

Eli Whitney - cotton gin - 1793 - "Whitney produced the first crude model of his gin in 1793"

Humphrey Davy - electric lamp - 1801 - "In 1801 Sir Humphry Davy, an English chemist, made platinum strips glow by passing an electric current through them"

James Watt - steam engine - 1764 - "Watt’s work with the steam engine began in 1764, when he was requested to repair a Newcomen steam engine used at the university."

Benjamin Franklin - lightning rod - 1747 - "In 1747 Franklin began his experiments in electricity with a simple apparatus that he received from a friend in England."

George Louis Lesage - telegraph - 1774 - "The first telegraph was demonstrated in Geneva, Switzerland in 1774 by George Louis Lesage."

Louis Pasteur - pasteurized milk - 1856 - ".. in 1856 .. Pasteur’s experiments on bacteria began, resulting in the process that still bears his name (pasteurization)."

George Stephenson - locomotive - 1814 - "Stephenson designed his first locomotive in 1814"

I'll be the first to say that the date attributed to Benjamin Franklin seems to be a stretch given that the picture appears to be a lightning rod which he did not invent for many more years.

Triton could indeed be called the heir prince of Poseidon (depicted in the 3rd image with the matching key symbol from this puzzle).

Ok here's how i got stage...

I started to convince myself that blackstone was the only possible answer. So I used the code and found the symbols for BLACKSTONE. I then followed a common pattern of Length 5 and Width 4 and tried to connect the boxes. After I did that, I put the letters into an unscrambler and tried all the words until I finally got to STAGE.

VirtuconDG: If you write it as:
BLACK

STONE

take the boxes from the cipher and connect columnes (B over S, L over T, etc) you get, in block letters, STAGE.

By arranging the ciphers for "Black" and "Stone" above each other, you achieve this:

The trick to the puzzle is that the cards are marked. The wheel in the upper-left corner of each card tells you the number of the card, and the small circle mid-way up on the left side of each card tells you the suit. 
The very last skywriting clue reads: [[Image:SkyType_Phoenix4.jpg]] 
1:00=A ... SW=HEART 
This is the "key" to reading the card markings. The wheel reads like a clock, with the 1 o'clock position signifying the Ace, the 2 o'clock the two, etc. The small circle tells the suit, depending on where the quarter-circle is placed. The south-west (lower left) means Hearts. The remaining suits have to be found through deduction. 

So, the first card is the two of hearts. 
The next card is a four. Since the only four is the four of diamonds, we now know that the north-west position signifies diamonds. 
The third card is the six of hearts. 
The fourth card is an Ace. The only two aces are the Ace of Spades and the Ace of Diamonds. Since the quarter-circle is not in the NW position, it cannot be a diamond, so it must be the Ace of Spades. 
The final card is a five. Since the quarter-circle is in a new position and one of each other suit is already present, it must be a club, the five of clubs. 
Clicking on each of the five cards in the upper row in order will reveal the true cards and enter the following into the "Submit" field:

I was originally trying to make a single gallery page for both the SkyType pictures (which haven't been uploaded yet) and the projections pictures; and then link back to it from the pertinent puzzle page. As it is, the page would be too big for all the pictures. Maybe this page needs to be renamed just for PB3. Any suggestions or edits are welcomed.
